What is kotodama?
It is traditionally believed in Japan that words carry more than just their simple meaning. They also contain spirit or power. This is called 'kotodama'. Literally it means "power of language" or "spirit of language."

She is famous, in a small way, for her artistry, and has won several awards. And while Japan is famous for its technological advances, she has students aged from 5 to 65 who come to learn the traditional art of Japanese calligraphy.
